Meath gets ready to light up for Christmas

Meath County Council have announced the dates for the turning on of Meath's Christmas lights.

To light up first, Ashbourne's Christmas lights will be switched on on Friday, 24th November at 6pm. The tree will be located at the Tesco Car Park with the lights to be turned on at 6pm.

The following day, Saturday, 25th November, Navan will switch their lights on. Firstly at the Crib located on Trimgate Street at 5pm and then at Kennedy Plaza at 5.30pm.

Also on the Saturday, Bettystown's lights will be switched on at 6.30pm at Bettystown Square.

Trim's Christmas lights will be switched on on 30th November. The town's Christmas Tree will be located as always outside Trim Courthouse with the lights to be turned on at 6.30pm on 30th November. In advance, the local Gluais group will perform and Santa will also visit to meet the children at 5.30pm.

On Saturday, 2nd December Dunboyne will switch their Christmas lights on in the village at 8pm.

The turning on of Kells' Christmas lights will take place on Sunday, 3rd December at 4.30pm at Kells Civic Offices.

Laytown will have their lights switched on at 6pm on Saturday, 9th December at Laytown Playground. Festive music will also be played before hand from 5pm.
