Cool but generally dry day with some sunny spells

A rather cool day today and a little cloudy this morning too, especially in the southwest with some patchy drizzle across Munster. Elsewhere its generally dry though with some sunny spells developing by this afternoon. A cool northerly breeze will mean temperatures will struggle with highs of 7 to 10 degrees.

A cold but generally dry night in store. Mostly clear skies tonight will allow temperatures to fall quickly with widespread frost expected. The northerly breeze will fall light allowing for some mist and fog patches to form with lowest temperatures of -2 to 2 degrees. Staying a little milder in the southwest with lowest temperatures of 1 to 3 degrees.

A cold but a mostly dry start on Saturday morning. There will be some early sunny spells too but cloud will push in from the west during the afternoon. Patchy drizzle will develop in the west later with highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees. Light winds will become a more moderate southeasterly later.

Cloud will continue to push in from the west but it will stay mostly dry early early Saturday night. Feeling rather cool too with temperatures falling down to 1 to 5 degrees with patchy frost across Leinster. Staying milder further west with light winds. Mist and fog patches also.

Sunday is expected a cold but cloudy morning with cloud continuing to build from the west. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle across western counties will gradually spread east but then break up in the afternoon. A touch milder too with highs of 7 to 11 degrees in light to moderate southeast winds.

Rather cloudy overnight on Sunday with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Later in the night patchy rain and drizzle will move away to the south with clear spells developing from the north. There will be some mist and fog patches as winds fall light overnight with lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.

A cloudy and wet start to Monday as patchy rain and drizzle move off to the south. Cooler and brighter conditions will move into the north with the odd isolated shower too. Northerly breezes and highest temperature of 7 to 10 degrees.

Staying cloudy overnight on Monday with the odd shower but most places will be dry. Winds will fall light with and it will become rather cool overnight especially under any clear skies. Lowest temperatures of 0 to -2 degrees with frost and icy patches.

Current models suggest that rain will clear during Tuesday with but it will stay cloudy. A light northerly breeze will persist also with highest temperatures of around 10 to 12 degrees.
