Sheridan impresses with strong finish in Waterford half-marathon
ATHLETICS
Bohermeen AC's Nichola Sheridan recently placed third from 692 ladies who crossed the finish line at the annual Waterford half marathon.
Sheridan produced a phenomenal performance as she clocked a new personal best and Bohermeen half marathon club record of one hour 17 minutes and 56 seconds.
That time eclipsed the previous club record held by Olivia Martin, although Olivia’s best time remains a club masters record in the F50 grade.
Sheridan, running her third half marathon of 2023, has improved from 1:25 to 1:21, and now the groundbreaking sub-80 minutes mark, a mark which now unofficially ranks her in the top 20 ladies in Ireland over the distance.
The ladies race in Waterford was won by Ciara Wilson of DMP in 1:16.43, with Becky Woods in second, with Sheridan just 15 seconds behind in third place. Only four ladies went sub-80 minutes with Dee Grady from Ennis Track club in fourth place.
