Gardai investigate fatal collision near Boardsmill

A woman in her eighties has died following a fatal collision in the Boardsmill area earlier today.

Trim Gardai are investigating the two-vehicle collision involving a car and a minibus, which occurred at Scarrif Bridge on the Trim-Ballivor Road shortly before midday.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman in her eighties, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the minibus received minor injuries.

Gardai are appealing to any witnesses who were in the area around the time or who witnessed the collision to contact Trim Garda Station.

The road remains closed this evening pending an examination of the scene by forensic collision investigators.
