St Pat's CS look to get past Tullamore in semi-final clash

The players from St Patrick's CS, Navan will look to chalk up a significant victory for the school when they take on Colaiste Choilm, Tullamore in the Leinster PPS SFC , Br Bosco Cup semi-final at Killucan on Friday, 2.30.

You have to go back a bit to the last time St Pat's won a Leinster title. That was in 2013 when they defeated St Mary's, Edenderry, 1-12 to 2-7. The last time they even got to a Leinster semi-final was in 2018.

The Navan school won the All-Ireland title, the coveted Hogan Cup, in 2000, 2001 and 2004 and were defeated in the 1991, 2006 and 2013 deciders.

St Pat's defeated Clane 3-8 to 1-11 in the quarter-final a few weeks ago, a victory that should give them tremendous encouragement going into Friday's game.

The Navan school missed a lot of chances in that game and if they can translate more opportunities into scores they must have a real chance.

"We had 29 shots during the game and only 11 scores, that's definitely an area we have to work on but nine times out of 10 the lads would have taken those chances, just whatever it was on the day it went against us and Clane are a very good side," said St Pat's Joey Coogan who manages the team along with Shane O'Rourke and Lorcan Burns.

Colaiste Choilm defeated Maynooth Education Campus 2-6 to 1-5 and are sure to present a formidable challenge in Killucan.
