In the inaugural cup final held in memory of the goalkeeper who starred for Parkvilla back in the1960s we had two well matched rivals and in the end it was the Navan side who ran out comfortable winners.

Both sides deserve applause for serving up a well contested and very skilful game.

Villa’s sharpness around goal was the big difference between the teams although their one touch football was a joy to watch throughout.

Two goals from captain Eoin O’Connell and one from Darragh McGuigan gave the winners a comfortable half-time, 3-0 lead.

Another couple of goals for the winners from Mark Pucinskis and Thomas Weldon sealed the victory.

Best for the Commons Road outfit were Darragh McGuigan, Ben O’Toole, Ryan Hilliard, Kayden Hill.
