Anger over school building delivery delay in Dunshaughlin
Frustration over the slow pace of progress in delivering the permanent school building for Dunshaughlin Community National School has prompted the school's parents association to hold a public meeting next Wednesday, 20th March.
Parents have also hit out at the lack of communication on the building project, saying the last update they received from the Department of Education was over a year ago in January 2023.
Dunshaughlin CNS, which is under the patronage of LMETB, opened in January 2019 in temporary accommodation in the grounds of Dunshaughlin GFC and currently has over 80 students.
An eight-classroom school, including two rooms for special educational needs, has been approved for Dunshaughlin CNS which will be located on the Dublin Road, between Dunshaughlin Business Park and the Willows residential development.
Planning permission was granted in November 2020 for the school which will share a campus with Coláiste Ríoga, a post-primary school also under the patronage of LMETB.
Coláiste Ríoga opened in 2021 in temporary accommodation on the permanent site and has planning permission for a 1,000 student school.
