Man arrested for trespassing and attempting to steal car in Summerhill

Trim Gardaí received a call at approximately 6am yesterday morning reporting males trespassing in the garden of a house in the Allen Dara area of Summerhill.

Gardaí from Trim and Enfield attended the call and arrested a male nearby. The area was patrolled for other males believed to be involved but were not located.

It transpired that this male had attempted to steal a car in the Beechcroft Estate earlier that night but was disturbed by the owner and then fled the scene.

He was arrested and taken to Trim Garda Station where he was charged with numerous offences and was brought before Trim District Court.

Gardaí would like to thank local residents for their assistance in apprehending the suspect.
