Former Meath minor footballer added to Fianna Fáil ticket in Navan

Former Meath minor footballer Kashif Ali has been added to the Fianna Fáil ticket for the local elections in the Navan area.

The 27 years old DCU graduate holds a BSc in Biotechnology and is currently working for a pharmaceutical company.

Having migrated to Navan in 2006 he established deep roots within the community and was a student at both Scoil Mhuire and St Patrick's Classical School.

Kashif is a member of Walterstown GFC, representing the club from under-age to senior level. He has represented Meath at inter-county minor level in Gaelic football.

He has also represented Leinster Cricket Union at various age groups as well as the Irish Universities Cricket team on numerous tours.

Following his selection Kashif expressed his hopes for the forthcoming local elections.

"I am honoured and humbled by this opportunity to serve our community,” remarked Kashif.

“In 2006, when we migrated from Pakistan to Ireland, my family and I were warmly received by the Navan community, and we will forever be grateful for that.

“Since then, I have been eager to support this community in any capacity possible. Fortunately, this opportunity allows me to contribute back to the Navan community and create a positive change.

“I also feel that for quite a while, young people have been under represented in the decision-making process. I look forward to reforming this by serving as a representative for the younger generation in Navan and advocating for their voices to be heard,” he concluded.
