Rock fans flock to Fairyhouse this weekend

Ireland's largest outdoor rock festival returns to Co Meath this weekend.

The 10 year anniversary of Rockathon music festival will crank up the amps to pay homage to the greatest rock legends that have ever lived whilst also discovering fresh, up-and-coming talent too.

The lineup is rocking with incredible performances paying tribute to Queen, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Slayer, Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Artic Monkeys.

Rockathon organisers say the festival is for the thousands of fans in Ireland that "love real rock music."

"As an independent event, we are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support and financial assistance provided by Meath County Council. Their guidance has been instrumental in making Rockathon a reality year after year.

"We were thrilled to be nominated for Small Music Festival of the Year Award from IMRO, thanks to the continuous support from our fans and the entire rock community, this festival has grown and gained momentum year after year. Brace yourself for our grandest celebration yet, as 2024 promises to be truly extraordinary.

"Our two stages will play 10 hours of non-stop, let’s rock, head banging, epic, rock ‘n’ roll anthems so come prepared for one hell of a day”. We play music from an era that modern day festivals have forgotten, music that makes you feel free, makes you feel alive, just makes you feel."

There will be free parking, a large food court and fully licensed bars and campsite at Fairyhouse with under 12’s entry FREE with an adult paying ticket.
