McGarry departs Navan to take up managerial position at Naas Racecourse

Naas Racecourse have announced that Aidan McGarry will take over as General Manager of the Kildare venue

The Directors of Naas Racecourse have announced the appointment of Aidan McGarry as General Manager of Naas Racecourse commencing on June 20th.

Aidan joins Naas after three years managing Navan Racecourse where he oversaw the introduction of the inaugural Navan Racing Festival in 2023. It was the first festival we have had in the history of Navan racecourse. It's bringing together the Fortria Chase and the Troytown Chase. The feature on the weekend is the Troytown Chase. Won by the classy Coko B each in 2023, it is one of the first opportunities for horses who have high ambitions for the season ahead to claim a very valuable handicap chase.

Prior to his time at Navan Racecourse, Aidan held roles in Horse Racing Ireland and Irish Thoroughbred Marketing including the position of Owner Relations Manager, the first dedicated role in the organisation aimed at growing and retaining racehorse owners in Ireland.

Speaking on the announcement of his new role at Naas Racecourse, McGarry commented  “I am delighted to join Naas Racecourse in the coming weeks. It is an exciting time to be part of a racecourse that has seen so much progress and development in recent years. I am looking forward to starting next month, working with such a well-regarded and progressive racecourse team and board”.
