NERL players go in search of Gaynor Cup glory

Paddy Mulreid

Having shrugged off the disappointment of losing the u--14 SFAI Girls Inter-League final to Cork earlier in the year, the North East League u-14 girls are back on the trail and ready to pursue a national title at the Gaynor Cup tournament this week.

The tournament takes place in the University of Limerick from 3rd June to the 7th June.

With the guidance of experienced and accomplished head coaches Paddy Allen and Morgan Hughes the team are clearly determined to go one better than their Inter-League Cup runner up position and bring back the elusive Gaynor Cup trophy this year.

The squad is comprised of players from eight different clubs within the North Eastern Regional League, (NERL) which in itself shows the depth of talent in girl's soccer across the league as a whole.

Clubs represented include, Torro Utd, Parkceltic Summerhill, Bohermeen Celtic, Athboy Celtic, Kells Youths FC, Navan Town Cosmos FC, Trim Celtic FC and Parkvilla FC.

The u-14 NERL squad that travelled for the Gaynor Cup National tournament is:
