New website helping to showcase Slane to the world

A new website showcasing the best Slane has to offer has been launched.

The comprehensive and user-friendly website launched by Slane Tourism aims to showcase the best of Slane, providing valuable information for both locals and visitors about the village’s attractions, accommodations, and activities.

The website will allow the user to delve into Slane's rich history by visiting its many heritage sites. You can learn about the iconic Slane Castle, the Hill of Slane, and other historical landmarks that tell the story of the village's past.

Gain insight into the fascinating history of Slane through a dedicated section that enables you to discover the village's origins, significant historical events, and the notable figures who have shaped its legacy over the centuries.

The launch event, held at the Conyngham Arms Hotel, was opened by Tadhg Carolan, Chair of Slane Tourism. Tadhg extended his heartfelt thanks to the Slane Tourism committee for their dedication and hard work, with special thanks to Denise Dunbar, Slane Tourism Coordinator, who meticulously handled all website updates, and Ronan O’Brien of Bubblehub Media, the creative force behind the website design.

Councillor Wayne Harding officially launched the website, commending the remarkable progress of Slane Tourism since its inception from the 'Local Heroes' initiative over 12 years ago. He highlighted the significance of The Hub in the village as a valuable resource for residents and tourists alike.

During the event, Ronan O’Brien conducted a live demonstration of the website, highlighting its ease of use and rich content. The site, www.visitslane.ie, offers detailed information on things to do, places to stay, and other essential visitor information, making it a central resource for exploring Slane.

The launch was warmly supported by the community, with attendance from tourism providers, village residents, and local businesses. Attendees included Thomas Byrne TD, Minister of State at the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Helen O’Connell from Boyne Valley Tourism and Councillor Paddy Meade. The occasion was captured by local photographer Grainne Russell.

Businesses interested in joining Slane Tourism and featuring on the website are encouraged to contact The Hub directly. Equally, individuals are encouraged to get in touch to promote their upcoming events. For more information visit www.visitslane.ie
