Hurling league finals set for decision this week

And just like that the hurling leagues will reach their conclusion this week with Trim and Kiltale set to do battle in the A HL Div 1 final in Batterstown on Tuesday night, 7.30pm.

The A HL Div 2 decider is fixed for Wednesday evening in Dunganny with Kildalkey taking on St Peter's at 7.30pm.

Dunganny will also host the A HL Div 3 final between Longwood and Kilskyre/Moylagh on Tueday evening (7.30pm), while the Div 4 decider between Killyon and Kiltale will be on Wednesday in Dunganny, also at 7.30pm.

Six teams remain in contention for the four semi-final spots in A FL Div 1 ahead of Friday evening's final round of games.

Skryne and Summerhill share top spot although neither are mathmetically certain of last four spots ahead of difficult final round games against Ballinabrackey and St Colmcille's respectively.

Ballinabrackey, Donaghmore/Ashbourne, Ratoath and St Peter's remain in contention though some need other results to go their way to force their way into semi-finals.

At the other end of the table there is no escaping the relegation play-off for Navan O'Mahonys as they are botton on two points, while they look like being joined by Simonstown, Wolfe Tones and Na Fianna, although St Colmcille's could get pulled into the mix if they lose to Summerhill and either Na Fianna or Wolfe Tones pick up a win against Simonstown or Gaeil Colmcille respectively.

The bottom four will play relegation semi-finals with the losers of those games both relegated.

In Div 2 Seneschalstown and Dunshaughlin are assured of a place in the semi-finals, while Trim, Curraha and St Michael's will battle it out for the last two spots with Trim taking on Walterstown who find themselves in danger near the bottom of the table. Curraha will face St Patrick's, while St michael's have a tough away game against Dunshaughlin.

Syddan are definitely in the relegation play with Duleek-Bellewstown facing a must win game against Oldcastle if they are to leap-frog the north Meath men. Moynalvey take on Syddan and could still escape, but it would take a serious of complicated results for both them and Walterstown to avoid the relegation semi-finals.

In Div 3 Rathkenny and St Vincent's are assured of semi-final spots. donaghmore/Ashbourne also look good, while it's between Dunsany and Clann na nGael for the last spot. At the bottom its four from Blackhall Gaels, Nobber, Kilmainham, Bective and dunderry for the relegation play-offs.

Castletown are certain of their place in Div 4 semi-finals and it looks good for Drumabargh too, while Ballinlough, St Brigid's and Ratoath are the main contenders for the other two spots.

Dunshaughlin, who haven't won a match, could still avoid relegation if they win their play-off which looks likely to include Gaeil Colmcille, St Peter's and either st Ultan's or Longwood.

High flying Slane have 10 wins from 10 and are odds on for promotion, but they must negotiate the play-offs that will include Moynalty and Kilmainhamwood, while Cortown look set to join them.

The A FL semi-finals will take place between Wednesday 17th and Sunday 21st July, in between round one and two of the hurling championships, with finals involving football only clubs provisionally set for Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th July.
