'Will Danaher' makes it to semi final stage in 'Nose of Tralee'

A Navan family pet is getting closer to bringing home the 2024 Pet Sitters Ireland ‘Nose of Tralee’ title back to the Royal county after reaching the semi-final stage in the competition.

The two-and-a-half-year-old Scottish Terrier ‘Will Danaher’ is competing in Ireland’s largest pet competition and recently reached the next stage and is one step closer to the final. The 'Nose of Tralee' celebrates the love that people have for their animals and is open to all pets across the country with over 1,500 pets that participated last year.

Danaher is the “heart and soul” of the Collins household and possesses just as much star quality as the character from the iconic Quiet Man film that he is named after, said owner, Michael Collins in a previous interview with the Meath Chronicle.

“He’s a great character and he’s my nine-year-old daughter, Michaela's pride and joy, her best friend.

“He has a majestic black coat and has an amazing personality and beautiful temperament, he's a big softie!”, Michael said.

The judging process is currently underway and will conclude on August 1st when all 32 finalists will be notified and the winner will be announced on the 20th of August.

The winner of the 2024 Nose of Tralee not only wins the coveted title, they also win a €250 Pet Sitting Voucher From Pet Sitters Ireland, a €500 Store Voucher from Tesco Ireland, and a photo shoot with David McAuley Photography.
