Meath manager Colm O'Rourke is still waiting to hear if he will be given a third year in charge.

No white smoke from manager review

There was no mention of the ongoing review into the Colm O'Rourke's position as Meath senior football manager at Monday night's Co Board meeting.

The issue wasn't raised by the executive and none of the delegates present felt it necessary to ask a question about the progress of the review.

It is understood that the review process is underway and after Meath's loss to Monaghan in the All-Ireland SFC series Co Board chairman Jason Plunkett suggested that the review would take up to six weeks to complete.

It is believed that surveys submitted to the players have been returned and are being processed. There should be more clarity before the next Co Board meeting.

The process of appointing a manager for the county senior hurling team is expected to begin shortly with for Kildalkey boss Pat O’Halloran and Westmeath camogie manager and Tipperary native Diarmuid Cahill the two nominations.

Sean Corrigan (Kildalkey) was the only nomination for the position of under-20 hurling manager.

In reply to a query from the floor chairman Jason Plunkett said that a successor to Hurling Development Committee Chairperson Martin O’Halloran had yet to be found. O’Halloran stepped down from the post last March and the chairman said he had spoken to a number of prospective candidates but so far none were willing to accept the position.
