Two men die in collision involving three motorcycles

Two men died this afternoon in a three-vehicle collision involving motorcycles on the Castlepollard to Oldcastle Road.

The tragedy occurred at around 4.40pm at Bellaney, Oldcastle. Two males aged in their 30s were pronounced deceased at the scene.

One man has been conveyed to hospital for treatment for serious injuries, while another man is being treated for injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

The R195 road at Bellaney, between Oldcastle and Castlepollard, is closed for technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R195 road at Bellaney, Oldcastle, Co Meath, between 4pm and 5pm today, Sunday July 28, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
