Things to do in Meath this bank holiday weekend!

As the bank holiday weekend approaches, you might find yourself looking for things to do. While Meath is a medieval county filled with historical sightseeing excursions to do such as Newgrange, the Hill of Tara and Loughcrew and not to forget to mention Emerald Park, just to name a few, we have found five things for you to do over the last summer bank holiday!

Starting on Friday evening, August 2nd, you could start the weekend off just right with a tasting evening at Bellinter House and Spa. You can enjoy a seven-course tasting dinner with wine pairings as part of Boyne Valley Food Series. The gifted kitchen team of Bellinter House and Spa meticulously select and prepare dishes based on seasonal availability and peak quality. Each course is perfectly paired with fine wines chosen by an expert sommelier. For more information you can visit discoverboynevalley.ie.

And if a wine and dine isn’t for you then you can visit a range of different farmer’s markets right across the county. Starting with The Cottage Market in Drogheda on August 3rd located at Scotch Hall Shopping Centre. From 10am to 5pm there will be homegrown, homemade and handcrafted foods and products throughout the day.

Or head to Sheridan’s Shop and Saturday Market August 3rd from 10am to discover a range of local food and drinks producers, including butchers, grocers, bakers, fish mongers and lots more.

On Sunday August 4th, the Farmer’s Market at Oldbridge House returns from 10am to 2pm with delicious treats and produce from local food producers.

Why not take a visit to the Summer Car Boot Fair in Teltown House, Navan on Sunday August 4th from 10am.

Richie and Catrionas Monster Vehicle Run in memory of Nikki Magee nee Woods and Sinead Ball takes place on August 4th at 11am at McNally’s farm on the Athboy road. The charity event is in aid of Mater Oncology Unit, Drogheda Oncology Unit, Breast Cancer Ireland and SOSAD Navan and Kells. More here on that!

A great Family Fun Day out in Wilkinstown Community Centre will be held on Sunday August 4th from 12pm to 4pm in support of Wilkinstown Community Centre, Embrace Farm and in memory of David McAteer. For more information on this event or to support this cause click here.
