Gerry Reilly u-16 football finals finale

This year's Gerry Reilly u-16 FT comes to an exciting finale with two finals taking place this weekend in Millbrook.

The Gerry Reilly Cup final draws this year's tournament to a close on Sunday evening (18th August) and promises to be a fantastic game between the two finalists, Cavan and Kildare.

Both teams showed great skill and enthusiasm on their paths to the final. Coupled with this, Cavan are defending champions, and will be looking to defend their title against Kildare who are in their first final in a number of years.

Both counties enjoyed comfortable victories in their respective semi-finals with some excellent players on show for both counties.

The Gerry Reilly Sheild final also takes place on Sunday evening (18th August) between the beaten semi-finalists, Louth and Meath. Both teams will be looking to bounce back from their semi-final defeats and this game should be a close affair between two really good teams.

Oldcastle GFC host the Gerry Reilly Tournament annually which is kindly sponsored by Dromone Engineering at their Millbrook pitch, in memory of the late Gerry Reilly, a promising footballer who tragically died all too young.
