Cathal O Bric has been returned as Meath u-20 football manager

O Bric out of running for senior job as underage appointments confirmed

Cathal Ó Bric will not be a contender for the Meath senior football manager's job, after he was ratified for another year as under-20 manager at last night's busy Co Board meeting, writes Sean Wall.

The former All-Ireland MFC winning boss led the under-20s to this year's Leinster title.

In 2025, he'll have Marcas Brennan (O’Mahonys), David Callaghan (Dunderry) and Eoin Joyce (O’Mahonys) as part of his management team.

Also continuing in his present role will be Minor manager Joe Cowley.

The Seneschalstown man's backroom team for next year will include Nicky Hamill (Skryne), Finbarr Clarke (Trim) and Pat O’Sullivan (Bective).

The search for a senior hurling team manager is ongoing with two candidates outside of those nominated set to be interviewed this week.

Pat O’Halloran of Kildalkey, who was nominated for the post, withdrew his name, while Westmeath camogie manager and Tipperary native Diarmuid Cahill was unsuccessful.

Ray O’Connor (St Peter's) was ratified as minor hurling manager and Sean Corrigan (Kildalkey) as under-20 hurling manager.
