Emergency services at scene of school bus crash
Emergency services have been dealing with a school bus crash on the Longwood Trim road this afternoon. It's understood the bus carrying primary school children from Boardsmill NS overturned and went into a ditch with some passengers suffering very minor injuries.
The incident is understood to have happened on the R160 at the townland of Ardanew between Trim and Longwood at approximately 3.20 today.
A Garda spokesperson said members were on the scene alongside Meath Fire Service with units from Navan and Trim in attendance along with Ambulance crews. The road remains closed.
In an email message sent this evening, Scoil Naomh Bhride principal, James Battersby assured anxious parents that everyone involved in the incident was "safe and well".
"As some of you may be aware, one of the school buses was involved in an accident after school today. I want to assure you that everyone is safe and well."
