Maia Dunphy rallies nation at €2.4m Hospice fundraiser

Maia Dunphy led the coffee morning charge for Hospice today (September 26th) as one of Ireland’s biggest fundraisers had kettles boiling in homes, schools, workplaces and sporting clubs across the country.

The broadcaster was out supporting her local hospice, Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services Blackrock in Dublin as the 32nd annual Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice got underway.

Organised by Together for Hospice, representing 24 Hospices nationwide, this year’s fundraising drive has a €2.4million target – and Maia said there is still time for people to get involved.

“Well done to everyone who has hosted a coffee morning this year at such a vital fundraising time for hospices, and you still have time to organise one on a date that suits you,” she said.

“If you’re not in a position to host or attend an event, please consider donating as hospice care impacts so many families throughout Ireland.”

Funds raised are used to innovate, build new facilities, develop new services and deliver quality improvements and extra benefits for patients and their family members.
