Gardai investigate suspected arson in Ratoath

Gardai have confirmed that they are treating a fire, which gutted a property in Ratoath last week, as suspected arson.

Ashbourne Gardaí are investigating the suspected arson at a property on the Ballybin Road, Ratoath, which occurred at approximately 5.56pm on Monday, September 23rd. Units from Ashbourne and Dunshaughlin Fire Service attended the blaze with fire crews remaining on the scene until the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to Gardai, the sole occupant of the house was uninjured. However, extensive damage was caused to the home, along with a car and a van parked at the front of the house. Fire damage was also caused to two large sheds at the rear of the property.

Gardaí are looking for information in relation to any suspicious persons or vehicles on the Ballybin Road, which connects Ashbourne North to Ratoath, on the evening of September 23rd between 5pm and 6pm and any relevant associated dashcam footage.
