Cahill's super saves helps Seagulls take flight

Young Meath goalkeeper Killian Cahill had one of his memorable outings with Brighton & Hove Albion teams when he made not one but two penalty saves in a penalty shoot-out this week.

Cahill was part of the Brighton u-21 team that took on Woking in the National League Cup.

The sides were 2-2 with an ultimate winner only found after a penalty shoot-out - and it was then Cahill really took centre-stage making his two crucial stops. Brighton won the shoot-out 4-3 to advance.

A former student at St Pat's, Navan Cahill was on the books at Shamrock Rovers before he was signed by the Seagulls.

In August Cahill was included in the Republic of Ireland u-21 squad by manager Jim Crawford for UEFA European Championship qualifiers against Turkey and Latvia.

Included in the squad also was another Meath goalkeeper, Josh Keeley, who was signed by Spurs and is on loan with Orient and Sam Curtis, the Sheffield Utd player who is also on loan with Peterborough Utd.
