Mild Halloween bank holiday weekend in store

Rather unsettled but mild for the bank holiday weekend with spells of rain. Some tentative signs of drier weather next week. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.
This morning will be dry for most apart from patchy rain and drizzle in the west and southwest. More persistent rain will spread over Connacht, Munster and west Ulster this afternoon and evening, turning heavy at times with the potential for localised flooding. A status yellow rain warning will take effect this afternoon for counties in the south and south west of the country.
Further to the east it will stay drier with some patches of light rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds, easing through the afternoon.
Tonight will be wet and breezy with outbreaks of rain becoming widespread, turning heavy in places with the ongoing possibility of localised flooding. Winds will back northerly and increase moderate to fresh and gusty, strong in the west and southwest. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 13 degrees, mildest in the southeast.
Tomorrow morning will be quite cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy for a time with a chance of localised flooding. The rain will turn lighter and patchier as the day goes on with a few sunny spells breaking through in the east and southeast. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in moderate to fresh northeast winds, easing later.
Dry with clear spells for many on Friday night, though there will be isolated patches of light rain and drizzle. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees with some mist and fog developing in light variable winds.
Most places will be dry on Saturday morning apart from scattered patches of rain and drizzle. Through the afternoon, more persistent outbreaks rain will push into the west and northwest, gradually spreading southeastwards later on and become patchier as they spread. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds.
Any rain will clear early on Saturday night with largely dry conditions and clear spells following from the northwest. Areas of mist and fog will develop in a light southwesterly breeze. A colder night with lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
Dry for many on Sunday morning and afternoon with sunny spells. However, outbreaks of rain will push into Atlantic coastal counties through the afternoon, spreading southeastwards in the evening. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
A rather wet night with widespread outbreaks of rain. Mild with temperatures not falling below 9 to 13 degrees in moderate southwest winds.
A rather cloudy start to the bank holiday with outbreaks of rain. The rain will gradually clear with showers following from the west. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds.
Current indications suggest that it will be more settled next week with a good deal of dry weather.
