Status Yellow snow and ice warning comes into effect
A Met Eireann Status Yellow snow and ice warning has come into in effect for the whole country.
The national advisory is in place until midday tomorrow and with impacts being:
• Hazardous travelling conditions
• Poor visibility
• Travel disruption
• Animal welfare issues
Temperatures tonight will also drop to around -3C, with snowfall accumulations expected in some areas.
Met Eireann has warned that heavy rain will change to sleet and snow bringing the potential for flooding, very difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, disruption and delays to public transport and animal welfare issues.
They have advised travellers to take this into account as they make plans and to consider if they really need to travel tomorrow morning.
