Spectacular ‘Parade of Light’ returns to Trim
The Trim Christmas Light Parade, which takes place on Saturday 21st December promises to be fabulous spectacle again this year while also raising funds for local charities.
The annual event involves different vehicles including tractors, cars, fire engines and more, all lit up with Christmas lights and decorations doing a tour of the town.
The parade leaves the Oaktree Business Park at 6pm and with the route travelling along the Ring Road, entering town onto Castle St, Market St and Emmet St and should be in the town centre between 6.15 to 6.30pm.
Registration (€20) is from 4.30pm with proceeds going to local charities. Vehicles will gather from 4.30am and depart at 6pm sharp.
All vehicles are welcome. Lights are essential and fancy dress is preferred.
Donations can also be made on 'idonate' with all money raised to go to local Trim charities including Trim Special Olympics, So Sad, Meath Hospice, Friends of St Joseph’s and also the Cardiac Unit at Crumlin Children's Hospital.
Meanwhile, a Christmas market takes place in the Deerpark Community Hub, Carlanstown, this Sunday, 15th December from 10am to 4pm. There will be over 40 stalls so it is the perfect opportunity to pick up some gifts as you enjoy the festive atmosphere with live music. For the children, there will be face painting and a visit from Santa Claus.
Trim’s youth musical group ‘Gluais’ will host its annual Christmas Concert in Scoil Mhuire, Trim on Monday, 16th December at 7.30pm. With a foot-tapping variety of Christmas songs and carols to be performed by the 35 strong band of teenagers, this festive night is one not to be missed.
All proceeds and profits from the night will be donated directly to the Irish Cancer Society. Tickets are €12 and are available to buy online at Eventbrite.
