More lottery luck for Meath players

Two more National Lottery players from Meath have gotten their year off to a memorable start after claiming life-changing cheques at Lottery headquarters this week.

It was the night before Christmas when a Meath woman discovered her fortunes of €65,005 in Telly Bingo’s 24th December draw. She purchased her ticket from Daybreak, Market Street, Trim.

Reflecting on her win, she recalled: “I play Telly Bingo almost every week – I really enjoy it! On that particular day, I played about two hours after the live draw, and as I was ticking the numbers off, I was growing more and more in disbelief. It wasn’t until Declan Buckley called out the shop that sold the winning ticket that I let myself believe I was holding the winning ticket - that’s when I knew the win was real.”

When asked how she planned to spend her prize, she replied with plans to take care of her family and potential home improvements in the future.

Adding to the excitement, another Meath woman claimed a handsome prize of €40,341 won in the 28th December Lotto draw. The Meath woman matched five numbers plus the bonus in the draw, after flippantly purchasing her winning ticket on the day of the draw from Tesco Extra, Millfield Shopping Centre, Balbriggan, while on a shopping spree with her aunt.

Earlier this week, a Meath couple claimed €500,000 from the EuroMillions Plus draw. The lucky couple won the prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw on 3rd January, having purchased their quick pick ticket at Supervalu, Ratoath.

Meanwhile, the top prize winner of the Millionaire Raffle has yet to claim their prize. The €1m winning ticket in the New Year's Eve draw was sold at Tierney's Newsagents on Navan's Trimgate Street on Christmas Eve with mystery still surrounding Meath's newest millionaire.

Emma Monaghan, spokesperson for the National Lottery, said: “We are appealing to all our Meath players who had a ticket for the New Year’s Eve Millionaire Raffle draw to check their tickets carefully, especially those who purchased a ticket from Tierney’s Nearby store on Trimgate Street, Navan. The winning ticket number which earned the top prize for the player was 467908. The winner, who now has a ticket worth a life-changing €1 million, is advised to sign the back of their ticket and make contact with the Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize in Lottery HQ."
