McGrath sustains season-ending injury and Ferguson saga continues
Jamie McGrath will be on the sidelines for the rest of the season and Brighton holds firm on Evan Ferguson's price tag.
Aberdeen manager, Jimmy Thelin, has confirmed that Athboy native, Jamie McGrath will be on the sidelines for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder. Aberdeen have been unfortunate with shoulder-related injuries and McGrath joins Dubliner and former Shelbourne star Gavin Molloy who also recently had similar surgery.
Speaking about McGrath and the injuries that are affecting the club, Thelin said "That’s something we have to work on. These shoulder injuries, it is really bad luck. We have to stay positive and support him. It’s important that he gets back as soon as possible, but for now, we need to support the players who are available."
Thelin also complimented McGrath explaining how he is a multifunctional player who can play in different positions.
Meanwhile, £80 million is believed to be the price tag set on Evan Ferguson by Brighton as multiple clubs race to secure the 20-year-old's signature. However, Talksport journalist Ben Jacobs says that £45 million is a more realistic figure. Several Premier League sides are still interested in signing the Bettystown native including Everton, West Ham and Arsenal.
