More power outage misery for Trim residents with fresh fault

Almost 4,000 homes and businesses had electricity supply interruptions in Trim this evening with some areas being informed power won't be restored until tomorrow evening (Friday).

Two weeks after Storm Eowyn knocked out supply to many parts of the town and its hinterland, a fresh fault today knocked out electricity to over 4,000 premises according to ESB Networks Powercheck website.

1,970 customers affected in the Maudlin Vale area had power restored at 8pm this evening according to Powercheck.ie

A further 2,079 customers in Trim experiencing power loss are now being told not to expect restoration of electricity until 4pm tomorrow (Friday). The bulk of these outages are reportedly on the Trim Dublin road.

Powercheck Latest at 11pm Thursday

Deputy Aisling Dempsey said she was engaging with ESB Networks to bring forward the restoration time!

The misery for customers, many of whom went days without power in the wake of Storm Eowyn is that temperatures are expected to be freezing point overnight.
