Bohermeen Amateur Dramatics perform to a full house last June.

Bohermeen drama group making it 'Complicated' for their upcoming curtain call

A BADASS bunch of enthusiastic actors are preparing to take to the stage once again following the success off their sold out debut performance.

The Bohermeen Amateur Dramatics Association (BadAss) delighted a local audience last June when they lifted the curtain on an eclectic mix of comedy sketches and a one act play that packed out the local community centre.

Buoyed by the reaction they received that night the ensemble are currently busy rehearsing a new selection of specially curated pieces they hope will bring the house down just like it did last year.

Bohermeen Community Centre will once again be the venue with the BadAss group staging 'It's Complicated' over two nights, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March.

Artistic Directors Jimmy Smith and Andrea Molloy say the cast, along with some new faces are thrilled to be back together and running lines for what they hope will be a successful run.

"We had so much fun doing that first show and it was a real baptism of fire for all of us but we got a tremendous reaction from everyone that came and it was something new to the community too," says Andrea.

"We're working on more great material this time and we've put together a programme that we think will make our audience feel good and hopefully have a laugh or two along the way."

The group of talented performers originally came together following the success of the local Bohermeen Celtic soccer club's Oskars charity fundraiser in November 2023 where many of them had starred in the mini-movies shot for the occasion.

The quality of those productions that helped raise tens of thousands of euros for the soccer club spurred them on to establish BadAss.

Tickets are on sale at €10 each and available from Leahy's Mace Newgate, McHughs pub in Greetiagh, the Silver Tankard pub, through the drama group's facebook page and cast members and it promises to be a wonderful evening.
