The voice of Meath youth is heard as Young Social Innovators’ Speak Out Tour travels to the North East
Young Social Innovators ─ the non-profit organisation that empowers young people to use their talents, insights, passion and creativity to come up with innovative solutions to social challenges ─ took its 2025 Speak Out Tour to the North East last week with an event at the Tommy Leddy Theatre in Drogheda.
Twenty-five secondary school teams from counties in the North East including Scoil Mhuire Trim and Dunshaughlin Community College presented projects they have developed under the Young Social Innovators Activate programme on a host of topical issues, such as homelessness, inequality in sport, domestic violence, inequality and misogyny, mental health, climate justice and substance misuse.
Following successful stages in Dublin, Sligo, Cork and Drogheda, the nationwide Speak Out Tour will culminate in Kilkenny next week.
Young Social Innovators is a non-profit organisation that believes in the power of youth. Its vision is to empower, equip and inspire young people to change the world for good. Through its programmes, training and events, Young Social Innovators enables young people to grapple with difficult social issues, advocating reform and advancing change. Each year, circa 15,000 young people are supported to explore social issues that concern them and come up with a variety of responses to these. In this way, Young Social Innovators builds social capital and helps young people create a fairer and more caring Ireland.
