Mercy school choir set to perform 'Fauré's Requiem' tonight in Navan

Fifth Year choir students in St Joseph's Mercy Secondary School, Navan with special guests, the Pentetetra Quartet are preparing to perform 'Fauré's Requiem' in St Mary's Church of Ireland tonight at 8pm.

This concert marks the beginning of a series of celebrations to honour the profound impact St Joseph's and the Mercy Sisters have had on education in Navan.

This year commemorates 100 years since St Joseph’s was officially registered as a secondary school in 1925.

The school had already been serving the Navan community for many years before that, with Mercy Navan earning a distinguished reputation for music as far back as the 1800s, a legacy that continues to this day.
