Oisin Leech on Glastonbury bill
Announcement in week Navan singer sells out debut solo show in London
In the week that he sold-out his debut headline solo show at Bush Hall in London, Navan-based singer-songwriter has been added to the bill of Glastonbury 2025, the festival organisers have announced. Leech will play the 8,000 capacity Acoustic Stage alongside Nick Lowe and many others.
Hothouse Flowers, The Coronas, and Lorraine Nash are among the other Irish acts confirmed this week for the Acoustic Stage, with The Riptide Movement, The Henry Girls, and the Co Limerick-based American artist Rhiannon Giddens. Rodrigo takes the final Sunday headline slot on 29th June. Other Irish acts on the Glastonbury bill include CMAT, Inhaler, Kneecap, The Script, Snow Patrol, and Sprints.
British band The 1975, Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young, and the American pop star Olivia Rodrigo will headline this year's festival at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. The Friday headline slot will see The 1975 perform on 27th June, Young heads up Saturday's edition on 28th June, and
The festival runs from 25th to 29th June. Glastonbury is taking a break in 2026 to allow the farmland to recover, organisers said last year.
Oisin Leech's London concert last Thursday night followed a hugely successful performance at the Royal Albert Hall as special guest for Tindersticks on St Patrick’s Day. This tour also saw Leech perform in Paris, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Glasgow with Tindersticks. This week in the UK, he continues a solo headline tour. Brooklyn based musician Steve Gunn, who produced ‘Cold Sea’ with Oisin in Donegal, joins Leech on the shows as very special guest. Tomorrow (Wednesday) they gig the famed Jericho Tavern in Oxford and continue until Sheffield later this week. Dublin double bass player Graham Heaney also joins Oisin on this special run of UK gigs.
Leech will be home to Ireland to perform at the National Concert Hall on Sunday 13th April 13th with This Is The Kit and Sam Amidon. This show is part of ‘Perspectives: The Cruellest Month’- a unique weekend of music curated by Bryce Dessner of The National, Brassland Records and Sounds From A Safe Harbour. He released his solo debut ‘Cold Sea’ last year to widespread critical acclaim both at home and abroad. It was awarded BBC 6 Music ‘Album Of The Year’ by Cerys Matthews and also awarded Top Ten Irish Folk & Roots Albums Of 2024 by The Irish Times.
