'Calendar Girls' opens at Solstice Arts Centre
Navan Theatre Group staging Tom Firth comedy-drama
Navan Theatre Group is this week staging 'Calendar Girls', the stage play by Tim Firth, at the Solstice Arts Centre, running until Saturday 29th March. Directed by Des Lynch, this touching and humorous production opened last night (Tuesday).
This comedy-drama is based on a true story of 11 members of the Women’s Institute. Calendar Girls follows a group of ordinary women who achieve the extraordinary when they decide to pose for a charity calendar, sparking a media sensation. With a perfect mix of laughter, resilience, and friendship, the play is a celebration of courage and community spirit.
Lynch brings his expertise and vision to this inspiring story, ensuring audiences will be captivated by its warmth and wit. Alongside him is a stellar cast of Ciara Cassoni, Joanne Donoghue, Caroline Diamond, Cora Rathborne, Deirdre Gilbride, Michelle Darcy, Cecily Gibbons, Séan Flanagan, Nigel Ryan, Ciarán Dunne, Suzan Fitzsimons, Siobhán Mallon, Nicola Devine and Kevin Walsh.
