Ewe won't believe it.... Black and white twin lambs born in Trim

Lisa Garrigan from Brannockstown, Trim, was amazed recently when one of her ewes gave birth to twins- one jet black and one white- pictured here.

A few years ago, Lisa started rearing pet lambs as a hobby and then started to breed and she how has 13 ewes, including this one with the black and white twins.

Lisa told how her daughter was going out with a farmer and Lisa was asking what happened with the triplets, as a sheep will generally only rear two lambs.

If there isn't another ewe they can foster the third lamb to, they tend to be sold on as pets as the farmer is too busy to rear them themselves and Lisa decided she would like to rear some pet lambs.

"That's how it all started," said Lisa. "I have 11 pets this year that are all bottle fed and I started breeding as well and have 13 ewes." Any of her ewes that had triplets, she will rear the third lamb as a pet.

She is pictured here bottle feeding this year's pets and explained how she separates them so the big ones don't bully the little ones!
