Fine Gael will choose a new councillor to replace Senator Linda Nelson Murray

Fine Gael will choose a new councillor to replace Senator Linda Nelson Murray on Meath County Council at a convention in Navan next Monday night.

When nominations closed last night (Monday) for nominations, there were two candidates in the race, former councillor, John Duffy, who served on Navan Town Council from to 2004 to 2009, but lost his seat in 2009, and Ross Kelly who unsuccessfully contested the 2019 and 2024 local elections in Navan.

The convention takes place in the Ardboyne Hotel on Monday night and the nominee chosen, will be co-opted onto Meath County Council at the April monthly meeting.

The new councillor will replace Cllr Linda Nelson Murray who was elected to the Seanad in February.
