Rush to pay TV licences ahead of fines
The rush to pay outstanding TV licence fees is gathering pace – at least locally in Meath.
When 68 prosecutions by An Post came before Navan District Court on Friday, 32 of them were struck out, meaning that viewers had taken out a licence in order to avoid a fine and court costs. A TV licence inspector was unavailable to attend court on Friday so the remaining 36 cases were put back to 20th June.
