Home or away Fr Murphy athletes still manage to make their mark

Talented young Fr Murphy athletes had reason to be very pleased with their achievements recently as they represented the Frayne-based club with honour on both the domestic and international fronts.

There was a tremendous achievement chalked up by the club's Aine Ward who won the All-Ireland National Indoors Shot Putt title at Athlone.

Aine was in superb form on the day and her throw of 8.08 was sufficient to better the efforts of her opponents in the event.

The club also had some tremendous success on the international front with Francesca Kelly and Daire Beacroft representing Ireland with honour at the SIABS Schools Cross-Country Championships in Scotland.
