€123k Lotto winner got the ‘shock of their lives’ seeing ticket
A LUCKY Lotto player who collected a cheque for €123,000 from National Lottery Headquarters last week told how they got the shock of their lives when they saw the ticket was sold in the same shop where they bought their ticket.
The Meath player claimed their cheque for €123,101 after matching five numbers plus the bonus on Saturday, 22nd March main Lotto draw. The player picked up their all-important quick pick ticket from A&M News & Gifts at Kells Shopping Centre.
The lucky punter said: “I got the shock of my life when I saw the news that the ticket was won in the same store that I bought my ticket. I went straight to the app to check if it was a winner! This win means a lot to me, I’m looking forward to being able to share it with family and loved ones!”
Meanwhile, a €75,000 prize from a ticket sold in Meath was also claimed last week. The lucky Lotto player scooped €75,000 after matching five numbers and the bonus last month with a ticket purchased in Trim.
The winning QuickPick ticket was sold in Daybreak in Market Street in Trim on 6th March for the draw held on 8th March. The lucky player from North County Dublin visited National Lottery Headquarters this week to claim his prize.
Recalling the moment he shared the exciting news with his family, he said: “I got a cake and put a seven and five shaped candle on it. I took a picture and sent it to the family group chat. My sister wrote back questioning ‘Who’s 75?’, we had a great laugh. When I told her that I’d actually won €75,000, the commotion kicked off, the chat was in overdrive!”
The Dubliner hopes to share his fortunes with his family and looks forward to soaking up the sunshine on a holiday later this year.
