Respond development home to 200 residents

Over the past few weeks, 68 people have begun a new chapter in Navan as they settle into their new homes at Mine View, a social housing development on the old Athboy road delivered by Respond in partnership with Meath County Council.

The 17 newly completed homes mark the third and final phase of the Mine View development, which now provides a total of 63 high-quality, energy-efficient homes. In all, the estate is now home to more than 200 people, including 130 children.

Niamh Randall, spokesperson for Respond said: “This development is about more than houses; it’s about giving people a place where they can build a future. Thanks to the support of Meath County Council, the Dept of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Finance Agency and The Housing Agency, we’ve created a community where families can put down roots and thrive.”

The final phase includes 11 four-bedroom duplex-style homes, all BER A2 rated, and six fully wheelchair-accessible two-bedroom dormer-style bungalows, complete with wet rooms—specifically designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

“We know the first days in a new home are just the beginning. Our Tenant Experience team is there to help tenants settle in, link them with local services, and listen to what matters most to them. As the community grows, we’ll continue to work with tenants to shape the services we offer around their needs,” said Ms Randall. The homes were delivered through a combination of Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF) funding from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage and a loan from the Housing Finance Agency.

Respond, which has been delivering housing and services across Ireland for more than 40 years, now provides homes to over 18,000 people in more than 8,100 homes. It currently has a further 3,476 social and cost rental homes under construction nationwide.
