Social housing units planned to replace derelict cottages on Trim street
Plans that would see two derelict cottages on Trim's Haggard Street demolished and a total of four new social units constructed on the site have been given the go ahead.
A part eight application for numbers 15 and 16 Haggard Street was made by Meath County Council, which is the planning process for the local authority's own developments. The houses (above), have been on the derelict site register in the county since 2019 and are now in the ownership of Meath County Council.
The proposal is for the demolition of two single-storey terraced house walls and associated outbuildings on lands at 15 and 16 Haggard Street and the construction of four single storey houses.
This is made up of two one-bed single-storey replacement terrace dwellings fronting onto Haggard Street, and two two-bed single-storey semi-detached infill houses accessible from the existing rear lane. The plans were on public display and no submissions were made on the plans.
At Friday's meeting of Trim area councillors, the planning report recommended that the development proceed and this was agreed.
