First recipient of Sharon Maher bursary

Navan student Amber Preston was the first recipient of the Sharon Maher Creative Bursary.

The bursary commemorates well-loved Navan artist and Coordinator of Navan Youthreach, Sharon Maher, and is designed to support one deserving young Navan student, who is undertaking year one of an eligible Third Level course in the creative arts.

It is a new initiative funded by the Maher Family and administered by Louth and Meath Education and Training Board.

This Bursary is intended to help finance the recipient’s third level expenses for year one of that student’s third-level undergraduate course by €1,000. This bursary is funded by the Maher family and administered by LMETB.

The award ceremony took place at the Sharon Maher Memorial Garden in Navan Youthreach and was attended by members of the Maher family, members of senior management of LMETB and staff and friends from Navan Youthreach.
