Navan family set to appear on Ireland's Fittest Family this Sunday

An adventurous Navan family is set to appear on the 11th series of Ireland's Fittest Family this Sunday.

The Noonan family are one of the four families audiences will meet in the first episode.

Caitriona and her three sons Cormac, Daryl and Sean will compete this coming Sunday, October 29th, RTÉ One at 6:30pm.

No strangers to arduous challenges earlier this year the three Navan brothers conquered Ireland's highest mountain eight times in 48 hours, a hike equivalent to that of Mount Everest to help Irish people “reconnect with the land.”

Cormac Noonan, Sean Noonan and Daryl Noonan took on the epic challenge last month alongside their friend Wayne McGrath raising over €5,600 for The Gaelic Woodland Project, a charity founded for the creation of a new native woodland dedicated to Ireland.

The fierce foursome conquered the 3,407ft high Carrauntoohill mountain on the Iveragh Peninsula in Co Kerry eight times, each climb taking the speedy bunch just four hours on average.

The Noonan brothers also embarked on the highest peaks challenge last year climbing Lugnaquilla in Wicklow, Carrauntoohil in Kerry, Mweelrea in Mayo and Slieve Donard in Down.

In a shake up of the show new presenter Laura Fox is on the hunt to find the nation’s Fittest Family. She’s not the only new kid on the block, as legendary athlete Sonia O’Sullivan will be joining Nina Carberry, Davy Fitzgerald and Donncha O’Callaghan to push the families to their limits and over the finish line for the coveted title and €15,000.

The action kicks off Sunday, October 29th as the Bonnar family from Waterford, the Heaney family from Tyrone, the O’Regan family from Kerry, and the Noonan family from Meath take on the intense challenges at The Lake. These fearless families will battle it out for two coveted places in the next round of the competition at a brand-new location – The Farm.

This season, the coaches are more competitive than ever and ready to train the fittest families in the country as they tackle some gruelling physical challenges. Fresh from last year's victory, Davy Fitzgerald is determined to make it two in a row this year. The other three coaches are aiming to prevent him from claiming another win, with newcomer Sonia O'Sullivan eager to leverage her Olympic credentials for a debut victory.

Ireland's Fittest Family, Season 11 is a rollercoaster of excitement, determination, and unparalleled physical challenges that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Don't miss a moment of this thrilling season as families fight for glory and the coveted title of Ireland's Fittest Family on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, Sunday October 29th at 6:30pm.
