Trim students receive Pope John Paul II awards

Four Scoil Mhuire students were presented with medals as participants of the Pope John Paul II Award.

Before Christmas, last year's Pope John Paul II Award participants from Scoil Mhuire Trim were rewarded for their hard work in their parishes and communities during a special ceremony in Mullingar Cathedral.

Bishop Deenihan presented the medals to the girls as their families watched on proudly.

Scoil Mhuire congratulated the girls: "A huge congratulations to E. Grace, O. O'Brien, S. Losty and S. Deegan."

They added: "The girls made history by becoming the first group to complete the Award in Scoil Mhuire!"

The Pope John Paul II Award is a faith achievement award for young people between the age of 16 and 18. It is non-competitive, inclusive, flexible and voluntary. It enables participants to take an active part in the life of their Church – in the life of their community and society.
