Cup final fever builds with money raised on day going to charity

The time is drawing near for the big kick-off - or should that be big kick-offs.

Cup final fever is building among the teams who will be involved in the forthcoming North East Regional League (NERL) finals.

The scheduled has been in place for some time for what promises to be a feast of football at the home of football in the north-east - the MDL.

“We are delighted to announce the full line-up for our cup final weekend in the MDL on September 14th and 15th. Entry to the grounds will be €5 per car, and busses will be €5 per player," outlined NERL official Jonathan Purvis.

"Most importantly, every penny we collect on this day is donated to charity," he added.

"The entry fee buys a Cup Final Brochure. Additional brochures can be purchased for €2 each. All proceeds taken at the door will be donated to SOSAD, Drogheda and St Mary's Special School Navan.”

Among the Meath teams involved are Athboy Celtic, Kells Celtic Youths, Parkvilla, Duleek, Enfield Celtic, Bohermeen Celtic, Johnstown FC, Torro Utd, Park Celtic Summerhill, Navan Town Cosmos, OMP Utd and Robinstown.
