Devastated daughter makes heartbreaking appeal for return of bracelet gifted by late dad

A heartbroken daughter has made an emotional appeal for the return of a bracelet her late father gifted her before he died.

Liz O'Connell says she is “inconsolable” after losing her “most precious possession” on Sunday and is offering a reward for its return.

The gold bracelet encased with diamonds was lost somewhere between Steeplechase Green and Grainger's The Ratoath Inn last Sunday evening, September 15th.

It is of huge sentimental value to Liz who has had the piece of jewellery since the death of her father, well known racing pundit Kieran O'Connell.

Liz kept the bracelet in memory of the late her tipster dad who wrote for the Irish Press and The Star newspapers.

Despite retracing her steps, the Ratoath woman failed to find the precious bracelet.

"It was the last present I got from my dad, I wear it everyday, I never take it off so I'm just hoping that someone will hand it in," said Liz.

"The amount that it is worth is nothing compared to the sentimental value it has for me," she added.

"I'm just heartbroken that it is gone.

"It;s the type of bracelet that stands out so I'm hoping that if it was picked it up and someone tried to pawn it off as a present that it will be recognised.

"I know there are good people out there, I just hope it comes into their hands."
