Council received 67 complaints of ‘frequent serious disturbances’ in July

The latest information about complaints of anti-social behaviour in Meath has been delivered by Meath County Council and top of the list is “frequent serious disturbance”.

In the month of July, 67 complaints in that category were received by the council and 44 complaints in each of the categories ‘Occupancy of Dwelling’ and ‘Garden Upkeep or Maintenance’.

Eleven complaints were made about dogs, horses and pet control.

In relation to standards in rented accommodation the council said it had carried out 3,305 inspections on rented properties in Meath up to the end of July 2024.

Of these 1,964 were first inspections. 132 properties passed after their first inspection. The council has reached its target of 1,850 first inspections for 2024.

There were 132 planning enforcement cases to the 31st February 2024. The process involves sending a warning letter, enforcement notice, and referral for legal proceedings. Enforcement notice court cases are usually held at Navan District Court.
