Death of Philomena Stewart-Boylan of Dunboyne

The death has occurred of Philomena (Philo) Boylan-Stewart, a member of the Boylan family of Dunboyne and the last surviving daughter of Seán and Gertie Boylan of Edenmore.

Sister of former Meath GAA manager, Sean, she was wife of the late John Stewart (Brig Gen), and lived in Knock, Co Mayo and previously in Longwood and Dunboyne.

She died on Tuesday at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar, Co Mayo, having resided in the Sonas Nursing Home, Knock, in recent years.

Ms Boylan-Stewart was a prominent member of the Meath Peace Group over the years.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Frances, Gemma, Pauline and Josephine, and is survived by her brother Seán, brothers-in-law Michael, David and Jim, sister-in-law Tina, the extended Stewart family, wider family, and friends.

Removal is tomorrow (Thursday) evening, 26th September to Ss Peter and Paul’s Church, Dunboyne arriving at 7pm. Funeral on Friday morning at 11am, followed by burial in Loughsallagh Cemetery, Clonee.
