Darren Fay will open a new phase in his football life as St Ultan's manager.

Fay's appointment another chapter in exciting times for the Saints

The appointment of former Meath full-back and All-star winner Darren Fay as the new manager of St Ultan's is the opening of an exciting new chapter for the club.

Not only have the Saints found a high--profile manager they are also improving their pitch at Thomas Coogan Park, Martry.

St Ultan's made it to the quarter-final of the JFC this year when they were defeated 2-18 to 1-10 by Clann na nGael at Kilmainham.

The Saints were without the services of a number of regulars that day including Meath player Cian McBride.

With McBride hopefully back in the fold for them and Fay giving guidance from the sideline hopes will be high among the St Utlan's supporters that they can make a very significant impact in 2025.

Tommy Buchanan scored the goal for St Ultan's in that game against Clann na nGael while Conor Finnegan and Ruairi Buchanan also contributed points.

The St Ultan's team also included former soccer professional and local man Gary Rogers.

A lot of good work has taken place among the under-age ranks at St Ultan's in recent years and the hope is that a high percentage of those players will graduate onto the first team.

“Darren will bring a wealth of experience and we’re delighted to have him on board. With our pitch development of Thomas Coogan Park Martry it’s exciting times in our club. We wish Darren and the players every success in 2025,” said St Ultan's chairman Tony Casserly.
